Τhe expected outputs 

The main outputs contribute to the indicator  RCO46 "Length of roads reconstructed or modernised- non-TEN-T" in separate sections as follows: 
Dropull Municipality - 3 roads with lengths of 1,03, 2,40  and 0,89 Κm =        4,32 Κm      
Municipality of Georgios Karaiskakis                       1 road with a length of     2,11 km  
Municipality of Kentrika Tzoumerka                         1 road with a length of     2,05 Κm 
The above interventions-public works, achieve the road upgrading with a total length of 8,48 Km measured as the length of a bi-directional road 

 

In parallel, the project contributes to the achievement of:

  • Self-illuminating marking pilot solutions

  • The new XT-ROADS tool  with the goal of adopting radical innovation by co-creating  new  public  infrastructure  planning  and  assessment  tools  completely  replacing existing management models in road infrastructure upgrading. The new tool will identify environmental criteria as a basic criterion for the design, construction and maintenance of road projects with the aim of climate neutrality, reducing consumption of natural resources and reducing costs

Τhe expected results 

The project results correspond to a saving of 120 equivalent man-days/year

Reducing transit time and loss of useful time through upgraded and safer road accesses concerns 

  • local population 

  • commuters & visitors 

  • enterprises transporting passengers/freight

  • businesses of the primary & secondary sector 

  • tertiary sector businesses 

  • civil protection services, 

  • protected areas agencies
     

Project's expected change 

  • Improving the quality of life, also facilitating access to public goods and health services

  • Removing the isolation and introversion of the intervention areas

  • Containment of the population of disadvantaged areas

  • Save time of transportation for use for any productive activity and for every user in general

  • Decrease transportation costs for goods and people, improve access to markets, foster economic integration, stimulate competition, generate agglomeration economies

  • Provision of faster & safer traffic & mobility conditions for the population of the municipalities & for the persons in transit

  • Improve traffic conditions for the communities in the border region by reducing pollution, increase the predictability of travel time road distances

  • Improvement of marking for black spots points and Reduction of road traffic accidents

  • labor mobility, urban-rural disparities elimination, educational & cultural exchanges, access to education, joint intervention in emergency situations

  • Increase the attractiveness of the serviced areas with easy accessibility to the available natural and manmade resources

  • Accelerating sustainable regional development

  • Strengthening the institutional and operational capacity of public authorities and stakeholders in the transport sector

  • Reduction of the environmental impacts from the operation of road networks

  • Improving environmental governance and developing environmental policy

  • Penetration of Green Public Procurement processes in public sector tenders

  • Expansion of cross-border cooperation possibilities of local authorities and beyond

  • More feasible achievement of the objectives of European policies

  • Strengthening the sense of belonging to Europe
